... The Role of the Vice President of Finance & Development: The Vice President of Finance is an important figure of the organization. He or she is responsible for coordinating with the Executive Vice President to approve financial transactions presented by other officers, but more importantly, the Vice President of Finance and Development and his/her assistants are responsible for identifying and coordinating fund raising activities. **Management of Organizational Finances - La Raza is not a programming organization; therefore, the role of the Vice President of Finance is more supervisory and administrative when compared to financial officers of other organizations. Our Vice President of Finance and Development should take a conservative approach to the organization's finances - accounting for every dollar that enters La Raza. Additionally, the VP of Finance and Development should adhere to all fiscal policies and procedures established by the university, keep an account of all receipts and expenditures, allocate money when appropriate, and maintain an updated balance sheet.The Vice President of Finance and Development's Constitutional Responsibilities: The Vice President of Finance is responsible for: a. Coordinating all money transactions of the CALR b. Adhering to all fiscal policies and procedures established by the University of Delaware’s Activities and Programs Office c. Keeping an account of all receipts and expenditures d. Allocating money e. Informing officers of the quantity of funds available in the budget f. Maintaining an updated balance sheet
