The Role of the Director of Philanthropic Endeavors: The CALR Director of Philanthropic Endeavors is responsible for continuing La Raza's history of community service and other contributions to the community. The Director of Philanthropy is responsible for identifying community service events that La Raza should participate in. **Community Service Events: As the Director of Community service, it will be your responsibility to decide what other community service events La Raza will participate in. Whether it be the AIDS Walk, MS Walk, A Childrens' Book Drive for Inner City Kids, or Mentoring, it will be up to you to coordinate events and solicit participants from the community. Try to focus on issues and events that benefit the Latino and other minority communities. Additionally, if possible, try to stay away from toy drives - collect books instead. Useless toys are nothing compared to tools that stimulate the mind and plant the seeds for greatness. Again, work with the Vice President of Administration and the Public Relations Officer to maximize participation and exposure of our community service initiatives.The Director of Philanthropic Endeavors: The Vice President of Philanthropic Endeavors is responsible for: a. Identifying and/or initiating philanthropic events that are consistent with the ideals that are promoted by and associated with The Campus Alliance de La Raza. b. Developing a strong relationship with the President, Executive Vice President, Vice President of Finance, and The Assistant Vice President of Finance
