The Role of The Programming Director:.The Programming Director of La Raza is someone who is charismatic, reliable, and comfortable speaking in front of crowds.  The CALR Programming Director will work closely with other organizations and be responsible for representing La Raza at events across campus throughout the year.  The Programming Director of La Raza must have good time management skills and can likely expect to facilitate approximately one event per month on campus - whether it be a La Raza event, a co-sponsored initiative, or an event that we support but will not co-sponsor.
**Facilitator of La Raza Programs and Events:  The CALR Programming Director is responsible for facilitating CALR events on campus.  In the past, the Programming Director has co-facilitated Community meetings, stop the hate rallies, town hall forums, and other types of programs co-sponsored or lead by La Raza.

**Representing La Raza at Co-Sponsored & Supported Programs Across Campus:  Throughout the year, many entities on campus, including student organizations, Residence Life Officials, professors and staff, will request La Raza to co-sponsor, cofacilitated or be present at events across campus.  As the Programming Director, it will be your responsibility to discuss with the Board which events our organization will support.  You are expected to attend each event that is selected by you and the board.

**Coordinating with HOLA:  The CALR Programming Director is responsible for coordinating with our sister organization, HOLA, to determine the dates of Community meetings.  Also, the Programming Director is responsible for making sure that no HOLA/La Raza events overlap - this is easily done by simply securing a list of HOLA events from the HOLA board.  Finally, as Programming Director, it will be your responsibility to update the community calendar in the HOLA Office with La Raza events.

The Programming Director's Constitutional Responsibilities:  The CALR Director of Programming  is responsible for: 
a. Planning and executing relevant empowerment programs that are not outside of the CALR's mission. 
b. Coordinating with other RSOs to develop and co-sponsor programs not outside of the CALR's mission. 
c. Closely Working in Concert with HOLA's Programming Director, ensuring there are no overlaps in events and the initiatives of the two organizations compliment one another
d. The Programming Director must have a strong relationship with, or be, HOLA's Programming Director.
